Live music echoed through downtown Washington, D.C., last night as the United States Navy Band performed on the Granite Sea! We were honored to welcome our host, The Office of the Chief of Naval Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle, and grateful to everyone who came out to enjoy the evening.

Summer evenings are better with live music and we are just getting started. Check out our summer schedule here: https://navymemorial.swoogo.com/2026cota

Our team had such a fun day at the Spirit of Independence Festival's Salute to Service event hosted by the National Archives Foundation โ€” From introducing families to the mission of the Navy Memorial to cheering on the day's activities with Vice Admiral (Ret.) John Nowell serving as emcee.

We reconnected with old friends like the Paint Branch High School NJROTC, United States Navy Band Country Current, and Blue Star Families while making new friends along the wayโ€”including the North Carolina Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association, the Quantico Marine Brass Band, and even Rosie the Riveter herself!

Of course, we couldn't resist joining in on some of the fun, too. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn about the many ways the Navy Memorial honors, recognizes, and celebrates our Sea Service members. We were honored to be part of this wonderful celebration of service, history, and community.
