The NIOSH Health Hazard Evaluation Program recently evaluated ventilation concerns and exposures to chemicals, bacteria, and mold among workers at a wastewater treatment plant.

NIOSH recommended addressing ventilation issues and reducing exposures to untreated sewage and chemicals — such as encouraging workers to change their clothing if it becomes soiled.
