For more than six decades, the Land and Water Conservation Fund has helped preserve and enhance the outdoor spaces that enrich our lives every day. That is why I was proud to work alongside my late friend, Congressman John Lewis, to pass the Great American Outdoors Act, which permanently and fully funded the LWCF.
This week, I joined Mayor Sarno and residents of Springfield's McKnight neighborhood for the re-opening of Magazine Park following $2 million in improvements, $1 million of which was funded by the LWCF.
The importance of preserving our green spaces, especially in urban neighborhoods, cannot be overstated. This is exactly the type of investment the LWCF was intended to support, ensuring residents can enjoy this neighborhood staple for years to come.

Last night, I joined every Democrat in voting against the Republican reconciliation bill that would provide an additional $70 billion to ICE.
When it comes to health care, food assistance, or education, Republicans tighten their purse strings. But they have no problem giving ICE $70 billion after already investing $140 billion through their Big, Ugly Law.
ICE is operating without accountability or transparency, stoking fear and chaos in our neighborhoods and threatening the basic civil liberties that define our democracy.
Rather than giving President Trump a blank check to continue weaponizing immigration enforcement, Republicans should be working with us to enact commonsense reforms that will rein in ICE and protect our communities.

Imagine working your entire life, paying into Social Security every paycheck, and trusting it will be there when you retire.
Then watching politicians slash services, expose personal data, and threaten the very programs you earned.
That's governance under Trump and Republicans.

This report confirms what we've long suspected: Medicare's hospice payment system is vulnerable to exploitation at the expense of patients and taxpayers.

Today, we recognize 82 years since the D-Day invasion of Normandy.
On June 6, 1944, 73,000 Americans embarked on a bold and decisive mission, launching the campaign that would help liberate Europe from the grips of N**i tyranny.
We remember the more than 6,000 young Americans who were killed that day. Their courage and sacrifice represent the best of the American spirit, and the free world will forever be indebted to the heroism they displayed on that fateful day.

Trump wanted to use one of our nation’s greatest promises—Social Security—to advance his despicable immigration agenda.

Only Trump would think he deserves praise for following a temporary court order.
Don’t forget he’s still getting a get out of jail free card on his taxes.
Keep up the pressure on House Republicans to ban this outrageous slush fund.

The president is trying to treat your tax dollars as a personal piggybank.
Today, a court upheld the rule of law—even when House Republicans won’t.
They could end this now. Until they do, Democrats will keep fighting to stop this lawless president and protect your tax dollars.
