تواصل السلطات البحرينية سياستها الممنهجة في استهداف المكون الشيعي، وذلك باعتقال علماء الدين وتجريد عشرات المواطنين من جنسيتهم في خطوة تُعدّ انتهاكاً صارخاً للقانون الدولي.
إن تحويل الجنسية إلى أداة للعقاب السياسي والطائفي يُرتّب مسؤولية قانونية دولية على المنامة أمام هيئات الأمم المتحدة.
