From Private Estate to Public Treasure:
In 1912, renowned architect Charles Adams Platt designed the estate for a couple from Cleveland, James and Mary Alice Parmalee, who wanted to live with a view of the National Cathedral as it was then under construction. Free event for families: Join us for storytime for pre-K through 2nd graders (siblings are welcomed) on Sunday, May 17 morning. Librarian Beth Fotheringill will read beautifully-illustrated, nature-themed stories.

Join us on Sunday, May 3rd for an afternoon of live music rooted in jazz, rhythm, and soul. The program opens with Leigh Pilzerās jazz trio, featuring saxophone, with Robert Redd on piano and
Tommy Ceil on bass, offering rich instrumentation and dynamic
improvisation. Vocalist Kendall follows, joined by special guest Charles White on keyboard, with a smooth and expressive blend of jazz and R&B.
Guests should enter via the pedestrian walkway at 3100 Macomb Street NW and proceed up the driveway to the event location. Street parking is available; there is no parking on site. Tai Chi is also back in action, Tuesdays-Fridays at 9am just west of the Lily Pond. It's free, no registration is required, and it's a terrific group of people.
