I move forward with renewed purpose and a deeper sense of empowerment. This campaign may have ended, but the work of building a stronger, more inclusive community continues.

January 2014. I walked the halls of the Capitol and I ran into Deborah. She had just joined the legislature and I got ready to move to Los Angeles County to serve as a field deputy - one of the most rewarding experiences of my public service career.

November 2015. Deborah and I walked the halls of the Capitol together. Eager to give back to my community, Deborah points the way to my first run for office on the Woodland City Council, ultimately making me the first Latina to serve as Mayor.

Years later, we're helping talented and dedicated individuals run for public office. I look forward to continuing on this journey together, hermana.
