Across First Nations, Inuit and Métis communities, Indigenous languages reflect diverse cultures, histories and connections to the land.
Some examples include:
🔸 First Nations: Anishinaabemowin (Ojibway), is a prominent Indigenous langauge spoken across Ontario
🔸Inuit: Inuktitut, widely spoken in Inuit communities
🔸Métis: Michif, a language that blends Cree and French
While each language is unique, all carry knowledge, identity and connection across generations.
They are living languages—spoken, shared and revitalized every day. During National Indigenous History Month, we recognize Indigenous languages across communities.
