He filed his petition on St. Croix on June 11, correcting the filing district issue. However, he met another stumbling block as he was given a notice of defect requiring him to provide at least 34 additional valid signatures to cure deficiencies in his nomination petition on St. Croix and 32 in the St. Thomas/St. John District.
Weber brought in the signatures on Tuesday hoping to satisfy the defect, but he fell short. In a letter to Weber, Fawkes wrote that he submitted an additional 32 signatures in the St. Croix District. Not only was he two short of the 34 needed, but only 23 were valid. In the St. Thomas/St. John District, Weber submitted 43 additional signatures, of which only 24 were deemed valid.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Denise George filed the motion Tuesday seeking permission for the government to review the Bio Form Information Sheets — questionnaires with background information completed by prospective jurors — ahead of jury selection next month.
District Judge Mark Kearney denied the motion on the grounds that it was noncompliant with the court’s policies as it lacked an adequate meet-and-confer report, which requires the filing party first contact opposing counsel to discuss the relief being sought and document each side’s position before bringing the matter to the court.
