The Council, through its Engineering Department, has continued carrying out road maintenance works in various parts of the district under the Road Sector Grant.
Today, the team is in Kasompe Ward undertaking road patching works aimed at improving road conditions, enhancing safety for motorists and pedestrians and ensuring smoother movement for all road users.
These ongoing works reflect the Councilβs commitment to maintaining road infrastructure, improving accessibility, and supporting socio-economic development through enhanced service delivery.

The 1x4 classroom block at Chigayo Primary School, constructed under the 2025 Chingola Constituency Development Fund (CDF), is now complete and functional.
Seeing these young learners around a facility that was once only a dream is a success story worth celebrating.
It is a reminder that CDF is making a real difference in communities by creating better learning environments and brighter futures.

Construction works on the crossing point at Chiwempala Housing( Motherland) are progressing well, with approximately 30% of the works completed.
Current activities include curing of the concrete after casting and laying of culverts in preparation for backfilling. The project is expected to improve accessibility and ease of movement for residents in the area.
This project is being implemented under the 2026 Road Sector Grant.

βChingola District Electoral Officer (DEO), Mrs. Namukolo Kalufyanya, conducted a monitoring exercise to assess the performance of Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) as they continue delivering voter education across the district in preparation for the 13th August 2026 General Elections.

βThe exercise was aimed at ensuring that eligible citizens are receiving accurate, timely and comprehensive information on the electoral process to enable them to participate in the elections in an informed and responsible manner.

βDuring the monitoring exercise, Mrs. Kalufyanya commended the VEFs for their dedication and commitment to educating members of the public on the electoral process and the importance of exercising their constitutional right to vote urging them to continue carrying out their responsibilities with professionalism, impartiality and integrity while ensuring that every eligible voter is reached with accurate electoral information.

βMeanwhile, members of the District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) have also intensified their monitoring of voter education activities in various wards across the district to support the effective delivery of voter education and ensure that no eligible voter is left behind ahead of the 13th August 2026 General Elections.

Construction works on the 1Γ3 classroom block at Ipafu C Primary School in Ipafu Ward are steadily progressing, with the project being funded through the 2025 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation.
Once completed, the new classroom block will provide a conducive learning environment for pupils in the area and help improve access to quality education by bringing learning facilities closer to children within the community.
This development will reduce challenges associated with long distances to schools and create better opportunities for learners to thrive.
The project is a continued demonstration of the commitment towards investing in education infrastructure and supporting communities through impactful development projects.

Chingola Municipal Council convened a consultative meeting with key stakeholders, including the District Commissioner's Office, the Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA), the Zambia Police Service and representatives from the Bus and Taxi Drivers Association to address the growing challenge of illegal transport operations in the district.
The meeting provided a platform for stakeholders to deliberate on strategies to curb illegal transport operations, strengthen the enforcement of transport regulations and enhance inter agency collaboration. The discussions underscored the importance of coordinated efforts in promoting a safe, orderly and regulated public transport system in Chingola.

Chingola Municipal Council planners today conducted a field mapping exercise to collect GPS coordinates for various Constituency Development Fund CDF projects.
The exercise will support the development of an accurate spatial database and assist in the identification and demarcation of properties.
Additionally, the collected data will contribute to processes aimed at securing land titles for public facilities, thereby strengthening asset management and safeguarding public infrastructure.

Chingola Municipal Council through the Public Health Department conducted an Ebola sensitisation campaign at Chilemba Market to strengthen public health preparedness and enhance community awareness on preventing disease outbreaks.
The officers educated marketeers, traders and market representatives on the signs and symptoms of Ebola, modes of transmission, preventive measures and the importance of promptly reporting suspected cases to health authorities. The team also emphasised the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene, practising regular handwashing, keeping trading environments clean and adhering to public health guidelines.
The sensitisation forms part of the Council's ongoing efforts to equip communities with the knowledge and preparedness needed to respond effectively to Ebola and other public health emergencies.
