𝐃𝐕𝐄𝐂 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐕𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐈𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭

Members of the District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) conducted monitoring visits to oversee the implementation of voter education activities by Voter Education Facilitators (VEFs) across the 12 wards.

The monitoring exercise was recently undertaken in Kamimbya, Katukutu, Munda and Mibanga Wards to assess the effectiveness of voter education outreach and gauge the level of community understanding of key electoral messages. The exercise also provides an opportunity to ensure that citizens are receiving accurate and timely information about the electoral process.

The voter education programme is designed to enhance public awareness of electoral rights and responsibilities, voting procedures, and the significance of active participation in democratic processes through informed decision-making.

As the country prepares for the 13th August 2026 General Elections, members of the public are reminded of the following voting requirements:

Voting Requirements
✔ A valid Voter's Card
✔ An original Green National Registration Card (NRC)

Voting Location
✔ Voters will only be allowed to vote at the polling station indicated on their Voter's Card.

Voting Time
✔ Polling stations will open at 06:00 hours and close at 18:00 hours.

FIRE SAFETY AWARENESS IN SCHOOLS 🔥

As part of the ongoing Fire Safety Awareness Campaign in government schools across the District, a sensitization programme was successfully conducted today at Old Mkushi Primary School.

The exercise aimed at educating pupils, teachers, and school staff on fire prevention measures, emergency response procedures, and the importance of maintaining a safe learning environment.

KEEP LUANO CLEAN, GREEN AND HEALTHY CAMPAIGN

Today, members of staff participated in the Keep Zambia Clean, Green and Healthy Campaign, conducting a clean-up exercise at Old Mkushi Market and the Civic Centre.

The exercise forms part of the Council's continued commitment to promoting a clean, healthy and sustainable environment for all residents.

We urge all business owners and members of the community to actively participate in the campaign by maintaining clean surroundings and practicing proper waste management. Together, we can create a cleaner, greener and healthier Luano District.
