CMC FINANCE MOBILE PAYMENT STATIONS FOR PROPERTY RATES NOW IN MADIDO AND STATE LODGE.

Chongwe Municipal Council continues its mission of bringing services closer to the people.

Council's revenue team has moved to the following locations for Easy access to the residents in these locations.

Royal Car Wash in Madido, Obama Plaza in Obama, and State Lodge near the Chongwe Check Point.

By dialing *4466 # on your mobile phones, ratepayers could access Government Services,
select Chongwe Municipal Council, choose the desired service, enter the payment amount and complete the transaction using their preferred payment method.

The mobile offices remain open from 09:00 to 17:00 hours on weekdays and from 09:00 to 16:30 hours on weekends, ensuring that as many people as possible could take advantage of the promotion.

Chongwe Municipal Council joined other exhibitors at the Chongwe District Agricultural and Commercial Show held under the theme "Fostering Trade and Investment."

CMC FIRE BRIGADE CONTAINS HOUSE FIRE IN CHIKONKONTO VILLAGE.

Chongwe- Wednesday 17 June, 2026.

Chongwe Municipal Council Fire Brigade has successfully contained and extinguished a house fire that occurred in Chikonkonto Village, approximately 300 metres off the Great East Road in Matipula area.

The incident was reported to the Fire Brigade at 11:50 hours. Upon receiving the distress call, CMC’s firefighting team led by Firefighter Aaron Kashala was immediately dispatched to the scene.

The fire affected five rooms of the building including the store room, kitchen, sitting room, dining room and one bedroom.

Property damaged in the incident include two four-plate cookers, three mattresses, a deep freezer, kitchen utensils, school and work documents, two plasma television sets, two amplifier mixers, a refrigerator and other household goods.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the fire may have been caused by an electrical fault.

Despite the unfortunate incident, Chongwe Fire Brigade successfully extinguished the blaze.
The swift response and efforts exhibited by the firefighting personnel prevented the fire from spreading further and potentially causing more extensive damage.

The Council has since urged members of the public to regularly inspect electrical installations and appliances, avoid overloading power outlets, and promptly report any fire emergencies to the Fire Brigade.
