The Bus Collection at Alford - Open Day 5th July, make day of it with ourselves and the Alford Heritage Museum and Grampian Transport Museum too!

Following on from the success of last years service we are pleased to announce we will once again be operating a FREE shuttle bus to The Bus Collection at Alford's annual open day which this year falls on Sunday the 5th of July 2026.

We will depart from outside King Street Depot at the Northbound Stop at 10:10hrs with a pickup at Kingswells Park & Ride at 10:30hrs arriving at the Bus Collection at Alford on time for the start of the event. The return journey will depart Alford immediately after the grand parade and operate to King Street Depot calling at Kingswells Park & Ride.

The service will be operated by Volvo B10BLE Wright Renown Y629RSA and is FREE of charge, however we do recommend making a donation to our friends at The Bus Collection at Alford to help them continue to maintain their excellent collection of vehicles.

Its and wow we cant tell you often enough how grateful we are at Alford Valley Community Railway for our precious volunteers. They have spanned from age 12 (with parent or guardian) to 70+ (vague to protect the shy and retired). As a volunteer and community-led organisation we quite literally could not run without volunteers - no drivers, guards, ticket office, maintenance crew, admin people, craft people - we couldn't do it.

If you'd like to volunteer with us please email [email protected] for information and look out for our volunteers open day coming soon.

Observations from the micro industry of can crushing!

Please only donate CLEAN cans, unclean cans smell awful, are very sticky, attract wasps.

Please do not donate Guinness cans nor food cans - clean or otherwise - as we cannot crush them.

Remember remember remember
only Clean Cans Crush!
